What a folly!

I thought I’d write here about victim mentality. Well, because I’m currently working on my own victim mindset in the Accountability Group. (I really like it’s upgraded discovery process!) How I build up tension in myself and others because I want to be a good and strong person — and instead, I’m learning to relax. Instead of reacting I learn to respond to Life. And how damn hard it is, when triggered, to do not-doing — to choose a different, life-supporting behaviour instead of an ingrained automatic reaction...
Ohh, I told the story!
Well, before writing this article, I put together the following news and used some help from artificial intelligence — I asked it to add humour and, in some places, sarcasm, and it did a great job! I had a lot of fun! Then I remembered one of my entries in the same support group: there’s been very little humour around me lately. Where has it gone? I love to laugh and I miss laughter! (And obviously others are just too boring. ;))
“Humour is a warrior’s greatest asset...” I added to that entry at the time, and dreamed more genuine laughter into my Life.
The Toltec aphorism continues: “...The only way of counteracting the devastating impact of knowing that one is fighting against impossible odds is to laugh at the poverty of our human resources.”
Oh yes, and it’s coming! I make my own life fun, arrange little playful tricks, smile and laugh — and naturally, Life responds the same way.
Today I went to my uncle’s funeral and met relatives I hadn’t seen in fooooorever, and in the joy of reunion I hugged them and smiled widely. “Liisi, they’re sad — maybe it’s not appropriate to show so much joy at a funeral?” said a voice in my head. I toned my smile down a bit. Soon after, my brother told me a joke right there on the spot. Ah, I love his sense of humour! Uncle would have laughed with us!
So, circling back to what I said earlier about how damn hard it is to do not-doing when I am triggered —Da-da-da-daaa! Liisi, you just got another hint.
“Because the warrior chooses to be happy he looks at things in a way that makes him happy; and by looking at the world in this way he sees the funny side of things, which makes him laugh.”
Thank you, Life!
With joy,
Liisi
